Łódź – CENTER OF OPPORTUNITIES

Deep in the Heart of Poland Łódź (pronounced "woodge") is both a city and the capital of the Łódź region in Poland. The City of Łódź, with nearly 800,000 people, is the third largest city in Poland when compared to Krakow to the south and Warsaw to the northeast. Łódź has its own airport, Łódź Wladyslaw Reymont Airport, but the city is conveniently located not far from Warsaw Chopin Airport and connected by a pleasant hour and a half train ride from the Warsaw Centralna station to the Łódź Fabryczna station in the center of the City of Łódź. The symbol of the Łódź region and the City of Łódź is the boat. Łódź means boat in English. This symbol is appropriate as the boat was the primary means of transportation and commerce prior to the development of railroads. Experts argue that the competitive edge of Lodz, an industrial city in central Poland, is becoming more apparent, and that it will soon become the first choice for Poland in attracting investment from China.
